It’s been a busy 12 months for Accelleron as we continue to support the marine, power, rail and other industries as they work towards decarbonization. We’ve enjoyed the launch of some exciting new products that introduce flexibility into the turbocharger market, and we’ve enjoyed working with a diverse range of partners across multiple industries.
Throughout the year, Accelleron has continued to service and grow existing partnerships and develop new ones, such as extending its service agreement with Starlite Ferries and striking up a partnership to help Mercy Ships to reduce floating hospital costs in regions that need it most.
Thanks to our readers, we’ve also enjoyed our most successful year yet here on charge!, and it’s been particularly insightful looking back over the past 12 months to discover our most popular articles, trends and topics.
Our most-viewed article of the year was The fundamentals of turbocharging: What is surging and how does it impact your turbocharger?, highlighting a desire from our readers for technical articles that deliver an insight into the technical side of turbocharging.
This is a theme that ran throughout 2023, with curiosity from our readers to know more driving some particularly interesting stories. How do diesel electric trains work and why do they need turbochargers was our second most-viewed article of the year, delving deeper into how turbochargers are used throughout different industries.
Our wealth of technical content proved particularly popular with readers, including 7 tips to keep your main engine turbocharger healthy, The fundamentals of turbocharging: cleaning in operation for two and four-stroke engine, and The fundamentals of turbocharging: Vibration in operation.

The year’s top ten also saw older content performing well, highlighting a natural curiosity among our readers for all things engineering, with Birth of an idea: Etienne Lenoir and the internal combustion engine still attracting readers nearly three years after publication. It’s easy to see why – as part of a series on the history of the internal combustion engine, it delivers a fascinating overview of how the modern day engine was initially created and developed.
Accelleron acquired fuel injection specialist Officine Meccaniche Torino S.p.A. (OMT) earlier this year, and also launched the new ACCX300-L series, which gave the team at charge! plenty to write about.
2023 was also the year where we focussed a lot more on fuels, traditional and new, taking a deep dive into everything from diesel and LNG, to methanol, hydrogen, ammonia and more. If you haven’t already seen our future fuels series, catch up on everything here.
And, if you haven’t caught up with any of the stories above, now is a great time to sit back and enjoy as we wind down towards the end of 2023. In the meantime, we thank you for your continued support, and look forward to bringing you more content from the world of turbocharging and beyond throughout 2024.
Thank you, and happy holidays from the team at charge!
