REEDEREI NSB is an innovative shipping management company based in Germany.
The task
The company was undertaking a major structured optimization of its fleet’s engines for its ship operations. For REEDEREI NSB it was very important that improved engine efficiency could be achieved without placing a heavy workload on crews.
How we went further
We showed REEDEREI NSB how Tekomar XPERT (now called Tekomar XPERT marine) engine performance software would fill the gap in the company’s structured optimization process.
They recognised Tekomar XPERT as the only solution able to diagnose engine performance in detail without creating more work for the crew. Other performance systems look only at parts of the engine performance like cylinder pressure.
Tekomar XPERT enables both the crew on board and shore staff to quickly and easily evaluate engine performance and quantify potential fuel oil savings, based on deviation from reference data.
Results
Following the adoption of Tekomar XPERT, REEDEREI NSB now benefits from lower fuel bills. The system is contributing to the company achieving its sustainability goals by helping to lower emissions.
Tekomar XPERT adds a further measure to the specific ship efficiency and energy management plan (SEEMP) which each NSB vessel carries.
