The customer

CMA CGM operates an extensive maritime network coupled with an efficient vessel fleet to offer worldwide integrated cargo transport. 

The task

CMA Ships has “environmental concerns at the heart of the Group's strategy”. One of their key initiatives has therefore been to optimize engine operation.  

How we went further

CMA CGM was one of the first ship operators to implement Tekomar XPERT (now known as Tekomar XPERT marine) as their engine diagnostics system. Starting with 70 vessels, the software was soon extended to the newer APL fleet. CMA Ships continues to equip new builds with Tekomar XPERT as the vessels approach service. With the addition of the APL fleet, a total of 140 CMA vessels are now equipped with Tekomar XPERT. 

Results

With the introduction of Tekomar XPERT, CMA CGM saves hundreds of tons of fuel and inevitably reduces emission, while the software also enables engineers to achieve more fuel-efficient operations. 

Tekomar XPERT also improves collaboration and communication between onboard engineers and office-based vessel managers with regards to engine performance.
