OMT, founded in 1930, has served engine builders with dependable, high precision fuel injection equipment since the early days of large diesel engine development. Junior Analysis & Design Engineer

Job description

Reporting directly to the Team Leader of the fluid dynamics analysis and system simulation group, the Junior Analysis & Design Engineer will join the R&D Department based in Turin. In this role you will deal with the design, modeling and simulation of injection systems for large naval engines.

Our focus will be on:

Candidates with a degree in mechanical engineering or similar and:

  • passionate about fluid dynamics, numerical and mechanical modeling,
  • able to focus on the solution of a problem, even complex, without losing sight of the general picture,
  • able to reinvent solutions trying to grasp their strengths, possible developments or limitations.

 

The role will be located at OMT factory in Rivoli (Torino).

To be successful in the role you will need to have:

  • Matlab programming skills.
  • Knowledge of system simulation software (e.g. GT-Power or Amesim) and notions of numerical calculation.
  • Ability to size components on the basis of basic mechanical skills.
  • Passion for mechanics and ability to interface with the staff of the production departments.
  • Strong motivation to actively contribute to the work of a dynamic, cohesive and oriented group to develop products of high technical content to strengthen the company’s leadership position in the market.
  • Good knowledge of English.
