Revealed: Accelleron’s 2023 F1 challenger
F1 partnership update | Baden, Switzerland | Feb 7, 2023
Our partners at Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake unveiled their 2023 F1 challenger at a launch event in Switzerland today.
The C43, which carries a striking new red and black livery penned by Alfa Romeo’s Centro Stile, features Accelleron branding on the chassis top and side. In addition, drivers Valtteri Bottas, Zhou Guanyu and reserve driver Théo Pourchaire will carry the Accelleron logo on their helmets and racewear.
Designed by a technical team led by Jan Monchaux, and powered by a new Ferrari power unit, the C43 is an evolution of last year’s successful C42 model and features a number of key updates that the team hopes will improve its on-track performance.
Bottas and Guanyu will drive the C43 for the first time later this week when Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake heads south to a shakedown session in Barcelona. Testing will then move to Bahrain at the end of the month. The Bahrain Grand Prix will get the new racing season underway on 3-5 March.
Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Managing Director of Sauber Motorsport and Team Representative, said:
“Bringing a car to life is a long process which touches every department of a racing team, therefore it’s a moment of great pride to see it unveiled today.”
“Our new car is the result of months of work, but today is just the beginning of a journey: we need to keep working hard, with humility and dedication, to bring performance to the track. Everyone in the team is committed to this target and we are confident we will reap the rewards of our work.”
