Accelleron successfully acquired True North Marine Inc. (TNM Canada) on August 28, 2024, along with its wholly owned subsidiary, True North Marine India Private Limited (TNM India). It is expected that the TNM business and existing Digital business will have synergies in the area of vessel performance, the decarbonization journey, cross-selling and acquisition of new customers, and a joint unique value proposition via merging of offers and software development. 

TNM provides weather routing guidance and voyage optimization, including consulting services from pre-voyage estimates to post-voyage claims, ensuring safe navigation and cost-efficient execution of voyages. TNM are experts in assessing voyage performance according to charter party agreements on fuel consumption, emissions, and other operational criteria.

Job description

In this role, you will be responsible for local Controlling, Commercial and Project Management in Digital Business for TNM, business partner for TNM Management and Global Digital Division Controlling and Management. Responsible for the integration for ERP, systems, tools and processes. Supporting cross-functions for integration and operations.

True North Marine

Your responsibilities:

  • Act as a business partner to TNM Management and to Global Digital Management Team
  • Responsible for local Digital Division controlling, commercial and project management
  • Lead and drive financial processes to manage and improve overall performance.
  • Producing month-end reporting and closing activities, financial statement review, analysis and explanations.
  • Responsible for budgeting, forecasting and projects. Secure budget process and that the strategic goals are reflected.
  • Responsible for strategic planning for TNM Business in collaboration with the Global Digital Division
  • Responsible for the implementation of ERP solution (S/4H) and improvements to secure and ensure lean operation, acting as power user and project manager.
  • Review and maintain the internal standards and Digital specific guidelines.
  • Ensure correct execution by following the Accelleron governance framework, risk review and internal control requirements.
  • Support business decisions by monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to evaluate various business alternatives and recommend the most appropriate solutions.
  • Support product and market analysis and implementation of new business models.
  • Support the operation in daily business and ensure correct execution (internal controls, to keep the license to operate including continuous improvements).
  • Support the business in legal and tax topics (for digital/software business), including contract management.
  • Support, coach and guide employees in controlling, commercial and project management.
  • Handle the complete accounting cycle, with the exception of accounts receivable tasks.
  • Handle the complete payroll cycle through the Desjardins payroll service.
  • Act as support for Human Resources.
  • Support in Division and Accelleron Group projects.

Your background:

  • University degree in accounting, finance or any other relevant field;
  • Hold the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) membership;
  • Good knowledge in Finance & Controlling (minimum 3 years), experience in digital business and commercial management;
  • Leadership skills, self-driven, decision focused attitude, team player
  • Experience in commercial and project management
  • Experience in integration of ERP systems and solutions
  • Experience in operational excellence and leadership
  • Analytical thinking, organizational and commercial skills
  • Good managing and communication skills, assertive and well structured  
  • Solution and service minded, results oriented 
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office applications and S/4H (CO, FI, SD modules)
  • Fluent in English and French to ensure good communication with international colleagues.
